Who Am I?
My name is Pavan! I am passionate about understanding the root of human suffering and exploring how we can cultivate lasting happiness. I am particularly drawn to the teachings of Advaita Vedanta, an ancient Indian philosophy that emphasizes our fundamental wholeness. I aim to become a therapist, integrating this timeless knowledge with evidence-based approaches to help others address their emotional struggles and live more fulfilling lives.
I am currently studying neuroscience and film at UMass Amherst. As a leader of the UMass Meditation Club, I have learned the power of mindfulness in promoting mental well-being and the importance of spaces where students can express themselves authentically. My experiences working at after-school programs have further strengthened my intention to uplift others, ensuring they feel that they belong and can truly be themselves.
As a filmmaker, I create films about the human experience, focusing on the complexities of mental health and self-discovery. I have made videos about student life for the UMass Instagram page, and have produced educational content for the MIT Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research.
